A Stocked Pantry

It’s 6 o’clock, you’re exhausted, your kids are bickering, you open the fridge…nothing. Freezer…nope, nothing there either. Maybe there’s soup in the pantry…nada. You order a pizza.

Sound familiar? It used to be for my fam too almost every Thursday night after soccer practice. All the fresh food was used up from my Monday grocery shopping, the freezer snacks are would be long gone thanks to the teenager and friends and even the pantry would be running low if I had a busy weekend and couldn’t make it out to Costco. I was so over pizza! Now I have one simple trick…ready for it?! I STOCK THE PANTRY! Weird right?!

Our pantry isn’t big but is big enough to have at least all of the fixins’ for one emergency pantry meal. I’ve tried several different recipes now and each week when I go shopping I make sure to by all the pantry worthy ingredients. I switch it up every week because I like to variety. Some weeks I don’t make the pantry meal but that just means I am extra well stocked!
